Using a truly holistic approach to wellness and healing is what distinguishes Dr. Hartmann from the typical chiropractor and practitioner. A holistic approach to care means, that we are interested in engaging and developing the person as a whole. You can think of this as the 7 dimensions of wellness: physical, emotional, social, financial, intellectual, occupational, and environmental. It’s the concept that the human being is multidimensional and multi-factorial. Dr. Hartmann’s strong relationships with some of the best specialists and other allied health professionals nationwide is a major benefit to her patients, who rely on those trusted connections for immediate expert referrals.

Leslie Joy Smith, Reiki Master

Leslie Joy Smith is a Reiki Master who began her holistic health practice in 1989 as a
Shiatsu & Therapeutic Touch Practitioner. She has taken other related courses including Meditation, Foot Reflexology, Jin Shin Do, and One Brain (dealing with emotional dyslexia). Over her many years of being in private practice and having given treatments to Hospice patients as a volunteer for both Brookdale and Horizons Hospices, she has integrated various modalities into treatments that are responsive to each client’s needs.

Leslie’s background in health and wellness began in the early 1980’s when she became a volunteer EMT for a local ambulance company in Lionville. She also became a Certified Instructor for the Red Cross First Aid courses and CPR which she taught to ambulance personnel and the public for over 4 years. It was a privilege to be part of such a fine volunteer group serving the community.

She particularly likes that Reiki can be done with a very light, gentle touch on the body, or can be beamed from slightly off the body. Therapeutic Touch is slightly different than Reiki, and it is done with the hands off the body working in the client’s energy field to help promote healing on the physical body. Both Reiki and Therapeutic Touch are used for patients in a growing number of hospitals in the Philadelphia area and nationwide.

Helping others to heal in natural ways is what attracted Leslie to the energy healing work she does. She particularly enjoys teaching Reiki and other self-healing and relaxing practices to support each person’s healing journey.
